We're so excited to be able to finally offer a workshop for a group of creatives frequently overlooked - the new kids on the block. This is a traveling workshop, making a special stop at Yeah Field Trip in Marfa! We specialize in Photo 101, understanding your gear, engaging with clients and starting your professional portfolio. We're committing ourselves to creating a safe space to learn + grow, while engaging in hands-on practice and building a community. This one-day course is designed to break down all the confusing aspects of photography and help young or new artists start their creative journey.
→ The First Half // Photo 101 + Lightroom + Leave No Trace
This will dive heavily into your camera, breaking down the technical side of photography into terms you can comprehend without any stress. Let's find your confidence so you have the freedom to express your creative passion. We'll then cover the most necessary knowledge for creating a strong photographer such as composing elements, copyright, and editing techniques in Lightroom. We'll teach you how to organize your files, find your style and edit large amounts of work with ease. We go over the importance of leaving no trace with traveling or shooting outdoors, while providing you with information about proper permitting tactics and how to cover your own butt with contracts and model releases. You'll even walk away with demo documents to keep and use!
→ The Second Half // Clients + Field Work
Business workflow! How we book, work with couples, posing/prompts, a few tips + tricks and then a live shoot for practice. You'll learn the techniques and practices we utilize to tell a story and create honest emotion within our couples. And nothing says professional like cracking a cold beer and practicing what you just learned. Add a beautiful sunset, the epic Marfa landscape, two goons who left their corporate careers, a 1972 airstream and way too much coffee... and this workshop is what you get! Magic.
This year is different from the others, this year you decide where you stay.
Don't worry though, we'd never leave you high and dry, check out our accommodations page for details on how to get to Marfa and awesome places you can sleep while you're there!

Q: Can I buy a discounted ticket and just come part of the time?
At this time we are not issuing day passes. Field Trip was specifically designed to be a community building event and we believe this can only happen if we all experience the 4 days together as a whole.
